Prior to 30th.January all persons inhabiting premises in which
a case of plague occurred were isolated in floating hotels (1.e.boats )` for a period of 10 days. On 30th. January the Bouri decided by a majority of 1, The President and Vice President voting against the motion, to allow persons to proceed to Canton instead of to the boats after their clothing had been disinfected. On the same date the Board decided to address His Excellency the Governor pointing out the desirability of ortalaing further nedical assistance..
On the 13th. February the Board agreed that rubonic plague existed in the Colony in an epidemic form and advised engaging * Europeans and Chinese Interpreters for house to house. visitation work.
On the 27th.February the Board declared Health Districts Nos. 4,
5, 6, & 7 viz. the Central and Western portions of the City to be affected
by bubonic plagye under Bye-law 22 Ordinance 15 of 1994.
On the 13th.March the Board owing to the number of cases found
in the streets recommenied that persons suffering from tubonic plague te allowed to leave the Colony subject to certain conditions, the President* and Vice President iissenting.'
On the 27th.March the Board recommended that permission te granted to remove plague corpses from the Colony, the President and Vicx President dissenting. As yet however no arrangements have been made for the conveyance of patients or corpses outside the limits of British Territory,
On the 201.April Health Districts 1 & 2 viz. the Eastern portion
of the City were declared affected by tubonic plague under bye-law 22 Ordinan

It was further agreed that persons removed from infected prenises be allowed
to return after the praises hud teen disinfected and cleansed.
On the 9th.April the Board approved the course taken as described
in the Prasilent's letter to the Honourable the Colonial Secretary dated
the 3th.April copy of which is attached and appointed a select Committee
consisting of the President, the Captain Superintendent of Police and the
Medical Officer of Health to supervise the cleansing and line-washing of
premises and the house to house vusitation.
The measures proposed in the President's letter of the tb.instant
above referred to have been in force with the exception of the assistance.

The sick as heretofore are being treated at the Kennedy Town Hospi-
-tal under the charge of the Colonial Surgeon and the remains of those
iying are buried at the Plague Cemetery at Kennedy Town.
The Board are of opinion that with the assistance now at its dispo-
-sal, they will be able to do all that is practicable with a view to pre-
-venting the spread of the disease and dealing with such cases as are
likely to occur.
The draft of this letter was circulated to menters and I' append
the minutes which members bave written on the circulating cover.
